019 : Birdwatching and the Glory of God
A few years ago, Redeemer Modesto hosted a series of discussions called Discover 167. The idea was simple. There are 168 hours in the week and typically we spend only 1 hour in worship. Speakers were invited with a simple question: Where do you find the glory of God in the other 167 hours?
We thought we would ask a few guests the same questions. These episodes won’t be every week, but we are kicking this new series off with the topic of Birding.
Join Fletch and his childhood friend and birder, Tom Slater, as they discuss birding and how the glory of God is on display in creation and nature.
Quietly making noise,
Fletch

In this episode, Fletch interviews longtime friend and ultimate “shower-upper” Lisa Kjeldgaard. Based on the Fletchifesto idea that 80% of life is just showing up, this conversation dives into the power of presence and why it matters. Lisa reflects on her background, her education, and how those experiences shaped her values. Together, they explore what it means to show up for others, the personal cost and reward, and why it’s often the first step toward any meaningful life. Plus: a rapid-fire round of fun questions.
