Laughter Is Contagious
Hey blog reader! Do you need a laugh today? Enjoy this one.
Quietly making noise,
Fletch
Guess who added another motorcycle to the garage? That’s right—meet Hobbes, the newest two-wheeled partner in my midlife adventure saga. It’s fast, it’s rugged, and it came with a side of philosophical introspection. Blog’s up—come along for the ride.
On a recent trip, I realized something tragic—SkyMall is gone. You remember SkyMall, right? That gloriously ridiculous in-flight catalog full of overpriced gadgets and questionable home decor, designed to tempt bored travelers at 30,000 feet into buying a toilet paper giraffe or a life-sized Bigfoot. In this post, I take you on a nostalgic—and slightly snarky—tour through the weirdest offerings I found, complete with stealth photos, unsolicited commentary, and a few too many thoughts about cat toilet training.
Bringing my 1930 Ford Model A pickup back to life has been more than a mechanical project—it’s been a journey into family history, personal growth, and the kind of nostalgia that smells like gasoline and sounds like unsynchronized gears. I’m learning as I go, one carburetor and brake shoe at a time.
The pipes in this photo tell a story. I have a lot of pipes, but these four Peterson Pipes on the left hold a special place in my heart—and on my office rack—because of the man behind them.
Here is a brief introduction to the new series I’m launching on theMangoTimes Podcast called: In The Smokeshop With Pop.
After a four year hiatus, theMangoTimes Podcast is back in action. Check out this blogpost to learn about the new launch date and topic for episode 27 of the podcast this week.
A quick reflection on 36 years of dating.
In this blog post, I review To America: Personal Reflections of an Historian by Stephen Ambrose, a relaxed and engaging journey through his life's work that feels like sitting down with an old friend who happens to know an incredible amount about American history.

Andy "Fletch" Fletcher has been married to Kendra for more than 30 years. He is a proud father to 5 sons, 3 daughters, but has added a few more kids by marriage and now a few grandchildren who call him Pops.
During the day he can be found fixing people's teeth, but the rest of the time you can find him smoking a pipe, enjoying a cup of coffee, riding a motorcycle or hanging out with his loyal black lab, Champ.
Enjoy everything you see on theMangoTimes from this Jesus-loving, wife-smooching, dog-walking, pipe-smoking, mountain-hiking positive guy as he quietly makes some noise.
Making it to the top of Fletch’s favorite reading list, this is an unforgettable tale of exploration and determination. Dugard’s Into Africa reads like an Indiana Jones African jungle thriller but hits like a life lesson. If you are drawn to adventure, this book belongs in your hands (or ears).
